NEW YORK: MyPRGenie, a business social network and newswire providing news release distribution services and search engine optimization, recently launched Facebook Genie and Tweet Genie. Looking to further meet the needs of communications and marketing professionals, the company developed the tools to facilitate connections and communications in the social networking space and help users increase online visibility.
With Facebook Genie, users can link their MyPRGenie newsroom to Facebook, allowing journalists or consumers to directly access press releases and media contact information from an organization's Facebook page. The tool automatically posts all news releases to the Facebook page, eliminating an extra step for users if they select the option.
“It puts everything in one stop,” said Jeri Rosenblum, product manager at MyPRGenie.
TweetGenie supports normal Twitter functionality but also provides additional services, such as allowing users to follow every follower of a particular twitter profile and providing a number of search options for finding Twitter handles. For example, users can search Twitter according to keywords, geographical area, language spoken, and the timing of the user's most recent tweet.
TweetGenie also allows users to export lists of Twitter handles to Microsoft Excel for use and reference at a later date. Additionally, users can direct followers to their MyPRGenie newsroom from Tweet Genie.
Rosenblum said the tool was designed to help organizations, individuals and brands find people to follow on Twitter relevant to the audience they are trying to reach through news and communications.
“We made these apps to make it really easy for users to cover the social networking space,” Rosenblum said, adding that the company saw a strong need for providing tools to help people and organizations easily publicize their news in the social media space.
