Former Nike comms exec to join Canadian Olympic Committee

TORONTO: The Canadian Olympic Committee appointed Derek Kent to the newly created role of executive director of corporate and brand communications, effective July 18.

TORONTO: The Canadian Olympic Committee appointed Derek Kent to the newly created role of executive director of corporate and brand communications, effective July 18.

In his new position, Kent will be responsible for the overall direction, management, and strategies for all of the committee's communications activities. He will also drive strategies with its stakeholder groups, including athletes, broadcast and business partners, and Sport Canada.

Kent, who previously served as Nike's US media relations director, will report to Christopher Overholt, COO and CMO. He also served as head of corporate communications for Nike Canada.
