NEW YORK: Ruder Finn has hired Kevin Silverman, formerly of Ogilvy, as its new director of healthcare innovation.
In the newly created role, Silverman will work on expanding Ruder Finn's healthcare practice and increasing digital services for healthcare clients, with a particular focus on information management for pharmaceutical companies. He was hired following an internal and external search.
“He will superbly supplement our existing team,” Susan Goldstein, Ruder Finn's global head of healthcare, said. “His charge is to take [healthcare clients] further into the digital space.”
The new position was created to add to the agency's digital offerings in the health and wellbeing field, and to emphasize Ruder Finn's position as a “one-stop shop,” according to Goldstein.
Silverman will report to Laurie Masonson, the director of healthcare media strategy. He joins from Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, where he served as the VP of Digital Influence Strategy, providing communications support and disease awareness initiatives for clients such as Bayer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Novartis, and Pfizer.
