NEW YORK: Ryan Barr, former co-head of Hill & Knowlton's NY corporate communications group, has joined The IGB Group as MD and corporate communications practice leader.

Barr is on board to establish a dedicated corporate communications group at the firm, as well as work collaboratively on charting the strategic direction of IGB. Previously, he headed up H&K's corporate communications in NY, and also led its financial relations practice. H&K recently hired Claire Koeneman to head its financial communications.

Barr has also served as VP of corporate communications and strategic partnerships at Atari, as well as various other roles at MediaLink Worldwide, Brainerd Communicators, Morgan-Walke Associates, and Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide.

Meanwhile, IGB also promoted Michael Cimini to MD and investor relations practice leader. He will oversee the existing IR practice and will focus on client relationship management and continued growth in new markets. Before joining IGB in 2006, Cimini worked at KCSA Worldwide and Stern & Co.

Both Barr and Cimini will report to Leon Berman, president of IGB.
