NEW YORK: Declan Kelly, a former executive at FD (Financial Dynamics) and FTI Consulting, and Douglas Band, the top communications adviser for Bill Clinton, have launched Teneo Strategy Consulting.
Teneo will reportedly include a merchant bank, private equity vehicle and an international consulting practice.
The consulting practice will offer strategic counsel and reputation management, a source familiar with the project told PRWeek. Teneo has already signed a number of high-profile clients, the source also revealed.
In addition, Clinton and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair will serve on the advisory board for Teneo, the first time the two have partnered on a business venture together.
Neither Band nor Kelly were available at press time.
Kelly recently resigned as US special economic envoy to Northern Ireland. His career at FD (then Financial Dynamics) began in 2002, when he became US CEO after his firm, Gallagher & Kelly, launched in 1999, was acquired by FD. FD was in turn acquired by FTI Consulting in September 2006, a deal that Kelly and FD group chief executive Charles Watson led.
Before resigning as chief integration officer for FTI Consulting in October 2009, he was responsible for the ongoing integration of the company's businesses around the world, as well as its corporate strategy, global client relationship management, global business development, and marketing and communications initiatives.
