Over the last several months, the PR team of Atlanta-based Porsche Cars North America has undergone a realignment of duties, says Steve Janisse, the company's GM of PR.

"We wanted to simplify and streamline things a bit," he explains. "We wanted to be more customer-focused and make the lives of our journalists and the people who we work with every day a bit easier."

This past May, Nick Twork was hired as manager of product communications, replacing Janisse, who was promoted to lead the team in February. Twork previously worked at GM, handling PR for Cadillac.

Meanwhile, new roles and responsibilities were given to current staffers Dave Engelman and Gary Fong, as media relations manager and product experience manager, respectively. Each had been responsible for media relations and test-drive requests between Porsche's sports cars (Engelman) and four-door vehicles (Fong). Janisse says now Engelman is the contact for all information requests and event and program coordination, while Fong handles fleet operations, which includes test drives and photo shoots.

"Our goal is to be as good as our cars are, which is a lofty objective, but we're striving to do so," says Janisse.
