PARIS: Publicis Groupe has acquired Rosetta Marketing Group for $575 million in an effort to dramatically boost the holding company's digital business revenue.
Depending on the agency's performance over the next two years, Rosetta's manager-shareholders may receive an additional deferred payment in 2014. The acquisition plans were originally announced in May.
The acquisition is expected to improve Publicis Groupe's identity in the digital communications world by expanding its digital business to more than 30% of revenue, which is one step closer to the company's objective of increasing digital revenue to 35% in the next three years. Publicis Groupe's other digital brands include Digitas, Razorfish, and Publicis Modem.
Rosetta founder and CEO Chris Kuenne will continue leading the agency and upholding the brand while reporting to Publicis Groupe's chief operating officer Jean-Yves Naouri.
Rosetta is Publicis Groupe's second acquisition this month. The company also acquired Swiss Ad Agency Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett on July 4.
