LONDON: The BBC's Ed Williams will be taking over as the new CEO of Edelman's UK business.

Williams will join Edelman in October, reporting to the agency's Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) CEO Robert Phillips, who formerly served as the CEO of Edelman UK.

Williams has served as director of communications at the BBC since 2008 and has acted as a senior advisor to the broadcasting company's director-general.

Prior to the BBC, Williams ran communications at Reuters and served as a director at Brunswick.

He replaces Susan Eastoe, deputy CEO and COO of Edelman's UK branch. Eastoe served as acting CEO and will be moving on to an expanded role in the EMEA Leadership Team next year.
