Brunswick leads US M&A advisor list

NEW YORK: Brunswick Group advised on $138 million worth of M&A deals in H1 2011, landing it the top US and global ranking in the Mergermarket League Tables of PR Advisors, released today.

NEW YORK: Brunswick Group advised on $138 million worth of M&A deals in H1 2011, landing it the top US and global ranking in the Mergermarket League Tables of PR Advisors, released today.

According to the listing, Brunswick worked on 105 transactions worldwide in the first half of the year, including AT&T's $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile USA — the largest deal so far this year.

On the global listing, by deal value, Brunswick was followed by Sard Verbinnen & Co. ($109.6 million), Kekst and Company ($105.5 million), Abernathy MacGregor Group ($86.3 million), and FD ($84.8 million).

In the US, Brunswick was followed by Sard Verbinnern & Co. ($102.2 million), Kekst and Company ($97.8 million), Abernathy MacGregor Group ($86 million), and Joele Frank Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher ($54 million). Last year, Joele Frank topped the US M&A list for deal value.

By deal count, FD led the global list with 122, while Kekst and Company was No. 1 the US list with 53.

Overall, US M&A value for H1 increased by 49.6% ($484.1 billion) compared to the same period last year ($323.5 billion). Meanwhile, global M&A value was up 30.5% ($1.185 trillion) from H1 2010 ($907.8 billion).
