NEW YORK: Through a distribution partnership with Office Depot, GSG WorldMedia is launching a set of magazines that focus on the business applications of social media.
The magazines will provide information to help business executives and entrepreneurs leverage Facebook, Twitter, Google, and LinkedIn.
FB & Business, Tweeting & Business, The Big G & Business and LI & Business will launch in September 2011 to a combined online and print circulation base of about 5 million business readers, which includes Office Depot's online subscriber base.
A group of six social media marketing veterans will launch and manage the magazines.
The publications will include how-to content and articles from leading social media experts, as well as additional content pulled from various sources on the Web. Much of the information will include examples of companies that successfully leveraged social media for business purposes.
“We want to have the best examples we can possibly find,” said Eric Yaverbaum, co-founder and associate publisher of the magazines.
The publications will be available in print for $179 per year, as well as free online and on iPhone, iPad, Android, tablet, BlackBerry, and Kindle devices. The print publications will be issued monthly and the online/multimedia components will be updated with five new stories per day.
“If you don't have a publication that can stand cross all of those media it's going to be very difficult to survive in tomorrow's world, if not today's world,” Yaverbaum said.
Larry Genkin, CEO of GSG Media, is leading the venture. Jay Abraham co-founded the publications and will lead The Big G & Business as executive editor. Eric Yaverbaum is also a co-founder and will act as associate publisher with a role in overseeing all four magazines. Mari Smith will be executive editor of FB & Business. Former Kodak CMO Jeffrey Hayzlett will be executive editor of Tweeting & Business. Nathan Kievman will serve as executive editor of LI & Business.
