H&K launches global sports marketing practice

LONDON: Hill & Knowlton has rolled out a new global sports marketing and sponsorship practice, and has appointed Andy Sutherden, UK managing director, to lead it.

LONDON: Hill & Knowlton has rolled out a new global sports marketing and sponsorship practice, and has appointed Andy Sutherden, UK managing director, to lead it.

Sutherden will oversee both a UK and international team. The UK's sports division recently reported 2010 revenues of more than $4 million, a 44% increase year-over-year.

H&K's sports-related work has included FIFA World Cup and Euro sponsor games, and Olympic Games (including six London 2012 sponsors). The firm is also responsible for multi-market programs for Adidas, HSBC, Visa, and Castrol, and is a long-term partner of Carling, Aviva, and Gillette.
