WEST PALM BEACH, FL: FD, the strategic communications unit of FTI Consulting, reported a 7.5% year-over-year increase in Q2 revenues for the period ending June 30, 2011.
Revenues were reported at $53.6 million, an increase from $49.8 million in Q2 2010. Last quarter, FD posted revenues of $46.4 million and 7.3% year-over-year growth.
"Our strategic communications group is just incredibly important to us in terms of being the backbone of our global footprint,” said Jack Dunn, president and CEO of FTI Consulting. "I thought they had a fantastic quarter given the state of the world economy."
This past quarter, domestic growth played a major role in the financial performance of FTI's strategic communications business.
"We saw good growth in the Americas where they're now rivaling London in terms of their contribution," Dunn added. "This is a perfect example of why we are so glad we did our transaction with FD several years ago."
Meanwhile, FTI reported overall revenues of $400.4 million for Q2, which is the highest quarterly revenue in the company's history and a 15% year-over-year increase from $349 million in Q2 2010.
Organic revenue for FTI's pro-cyclical businesses grew 16%, prior to contributions from professionals who joined FTI's economic consulting segment from LECG.
