WASHINGTON: Fenton Communications has hired Rose Mary Romano as SVP in its Washington office.
She was brought on board for her in-depth knowledge of health, international development, and social marketing, including on-the-ground experience in Africa and India. She has also been involved in large-scale government and UN-funded international health and development projects.
Most recently, Romano worked as a senior communication specialist at the Academy for Educational Development (AED), where she managed a number of programs and global media projects for C-Change, a USAID global communications contract. She was also director of the AED's office in South Africa.
Previously, Romano managed communications and public affairs in positions at the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and the Health Resources and Services Administration. She also led a communications program for the White House's Healthy Start initiative.
