Ford of Europe promotes Truby to lead comms and public affairs

DEARBORN, MI: Ford of Europe has promoted Mark Truby to VP of communications and public affairs.

DEARBORN, MI: Ford of Europe has promoted Mark Truby to VP of communications and public affairs. After taking over this new role at the end of September, he will lead Ford's European communications efforts with a focus on improving the brands reputation among all target audiences. He will aslo collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and tell the brand's story and expand Ford's communications capabilities and expertise.

Truby currently serves as executive director of communications and public affairs for Ford of Europe.  He joined Ford in 2007 in Dearborn, MI, where he lead the company's corporate news team. Prior to Ford, he worked as a journalist.

Truby succeeds Ian Slater, who has been  VP of communications and public affairs for Ford of Europe since 2004 and will be retiring at the end of September. Slater joined Ford in 1980, and has held a number of notable communications and public affairs positions in both the US and Europe throughout his 30 years with the automotive giant.
