FD Americas will now be known as the strategic communications practice of FTI Consulting, said Mark McCall, head of Americas. The rebranding has not affected any jobs within the group."Over the last five years, members of FD have literally sat down with FTI consultants when we're doing bankruptcies, litigations, and other assignments, but changing the name in many ways makes it easier for clients to understand how we actually do work together," he said. "It is a symbolic change, but one that makes it easy for our clients to understand how we fit into the FTI portfolio."
The conversion marks another step in parent company FTI Consulting's five-year global integration into a one brand strategy, which was first announced in January. The overall rebranding, which is slated to be completed by November, will include the conversion of all its previously acquired firms to the FTI Consulting brand.
FD Asia Pacific completed its transition to the FTI Consulting brand in August, while FD EMEA will undergo the conversion in the next 30 days.
Last month, the strategic communications firm posted a 7.5% year-over-year increase in Q2 revenues for the period ending June 30, 2011. In 2010, the group reported revenue of more than $50 million in the US, and $193.2 million globally. The unit works with clients such as Transocean, AARP, Dick's Sporting Goods, GE, MGM Resorts, and Talbots.
