FRANKLIN, TN: Nissan Americas has donated $2.5 million to Habitat for Humanity International, further expanding its CSR efforts with the organization that began in 2005.
The automaker said it will fund grants and provide Nissan vehicles for 10 Habitat affiliates that make commitments to sustainable construction practices. Meanwhile, Habitat will use a portion of Nissan's donation to implement sustainability summits for affiliates and local communities.
Nissan will also place point-of-sale materials in dealerships as well as conduct communications efforts to get consumers involved. The carmaker will also link to Habitat's website so consumers can make a donation or find volunteer opportunities across the country
Nissan's recent funding will support the annual Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project in Haiti next month.
