An election year is one of the most exciting times in Washington, DC, including for those working in politics and public affairs. PRWeek is reintroducing our Trail Watch blog in order to chronicle the events, people, and issues that will shape the 2012 presidential and Congressional races.

At the height of what would become a historic election in 2008, PRWeek introduced a special weekly online-only feature called Trail Watch, which followed the presidential candidates along the campaign trail, including all the bumps, flubs and communications challenges that come along with these increasingly exhausting, expensive, and highly-coordinated efforts.

This year's Trail Watch will reside on PRWeekus.com as our exclusive election coverage blog, tracking the public affairs issues and political campaigns in the countdown to Tuesday, November 6, 2012.
