Christie's taps H&S as lifestyle AOR

NEW YORK: Auction house Christie's has selected Harrison & Shriftman as its North American lifestyle AOR.

The agency will work to drive awareness of the iconic company and to position it as a lifestyle and content brand.

H&S first began working with Christie's nearly three months ago after a partnership between the auction house and JW Marriott. H&S is JW Marriott's global AOR. Christie's named the firm AOR shortly thereafter, said Elizabeth Harrison, co-founder of H&S.

“When the market was in a different place, we obviously had a lot of luxury clients. Then when the recession hit in 2009 and 2010, we lost a lot of those types of clients,” she continued. “What I find interesting is I'm starting to see an uptick in luxury clients coming back to us. Christie's fits that, and it also extends to our recent hospitality wins."

The majority of the account work will focus on events strategy. H&S is currently handling PR for the auction of Elizabeth Taylor's jewelry in Los Angeles, Harrison added.

Christie's, which confirmed the agency hire but was otherwise unavailable for comment, also works with Ruder Finn on art press outreach.

H&S was also recently named AOR for other hospitality accounts, including the Public Hotel Chicago by Ian Schrager, The St. Regis Aspen Resort, and sbe Hotel Group, which manages the SLS Beverly Hills, The Redbury in Hollywood, CA, and the soon-to-open SLS South Beach.

The agency was also hired as AOR for the Autograph Collection by Marriott, another line of upscale independent hotels, through its global AOR relationship with JW Marriott.
