NEW YORK: Burson-Marsteller has hired Laura Hall as managing director for its US consumer practice and head of the agency's Ford Motor Company global consumer team.
Hall, previously SVP and global account director at MSLGroup, is providing strategic counsel as a member of WPP Group's global Ford team.
She joined Burson September 12. Hall is responsible for developing Ford's communications strategies and creating new plans focused on the consumer.
“In the face of the success Ford has had in the past few years since the bailout, where they didn't take the money, the consumer has become critically important for Ford as their brand champion,” Hall explained, “So my goal is to work with the Ford teams around the globe on how best to listen to that consumer and deliver on what they need in both their vehicle and from Ford as a brand.”
Hall will report to Lisa Travatello, global consumer and brand marketing practice chair; Samantha Lucas, North American brand marketing practice chair; and Dave DenHerder, the agency's global client lead for Ford.
Hall said that she's also working on new business development at Burson.At MSLGroup, she managed accounts including Kellog's Special K, spirits company Moet-Hennessy, and coffee-brewing brand Keurig.
Hall previously was a managing partner at PainePR, where she handled various consumer accounts including Old Spice and Ancestry.com and led the firm's social engagement practice.
