NEW YORK: NASDAQ OMX Group has acquired Glide Technologies, a London-based software-as-a-service provider that specializes in corporate communications and reputation management.
Demetrios Skalkotos, SVP of global corporate solutions at NASDAQ OMX Group, said the acquisition will bolster the company's corporate solutions division, which until now had only provided services on the IR and CFO sides.
“What we're trying to do is really provide a strategic information-knowledgeable platform across the corporation,” he said. “The PR component is a great addition to what we're already doing on the IR component, and we wanted to extend our offering into the PR space.”
NASDAQ will merge Glide's media monitoring, measurement, content management, and newsroom services into its OMX Group's corporate solutions division, which offers risk management products for public and private companies. After a transition period, Skalkotos said the Glide brand would be discontinued. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Glide, which launched in 2003, has worked with multinationals such as Sony, Honda, NBC Universal, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
NASDAQ OMX's corporate solutions division has worked with RF|Binder as AOR since March. The business unit hired Joe Christinat in June as head of media relations and VP of corporate communications.
