ITT Exelis launches

MACLEAN, VA: ITT Exelis has completed its spin-off from ITT Corporation.

MACLEAN, VA: ITT Exelis has completed its spin-off from ITT Corporation.

The company will operate in the networked communications, sensing and surveillance, reconnaissance, electronic warfare, air-traffic solutions, and information systems spaces.

David Albritton is the company's VP and CCO, and Robert Durbin is its VP for government relations. Albritton was previously VP of communications for defense and information solutions at ITT. Angela Buonocore will lead communications for the water-focused spin-off business.

Jennifer Schiavone, previously director of PR, will replace Buonocore as ITT's global head of communications. Kathleen Bark will serve as director of external affairs, and Leila Siman will be director of employee engagement communications.

Buonocore will serve as CCO of fellow spinoff company Xylem, while Tom Glover and Cristal Downing will be VPs for external and internal communications, respectively.  

Shares of the company, which works with military, government, and commercial customers, will be traded on the New York Stock Exchange beginning November 1. ITT Exelis has 21,000 employees worldwide.
