Give credit to The Washington Post. Late last week, the company named Laura Evans its first CXO – chief experience officer – with a mandate to approve all new products as well as major changes to existing products.
Evans previously served as the media outlet's chief researcher, and she also worked in Weber Shandwick's research division at one point.
It's a smart move by the Post. Digital-savvy consumers are taking a greater role influencing media outlets, just as they're holding more sway over brands in many other industries.
