GRAND RAPIDS, MI, and ATLANTA: Lambert Edwards & Associates has acquired Atlanta-based firm IR Squared.
Lambert Edwards will integrate IR Squared's clients under its own brand immediately, said Jeff Lambert, president and managing partner of the firm.
“We set out three years ago to be more intentional about acquisitions as part of our growth, and frankly we're continuing to look at acquisitions in IR,” said Lambert. “It's a specialty area for us, and [IR Squared] was really an opportunity to grow both talent and expertise, as well as clients. It's a continuation of our strategy to grow both organically and through acquisitions.”
Robert Burton, principal of IR Squared, will join Lambert Edwards as MD, leading its financial communications practice. Before launching IR Squared, Burton led IR departments at Home Depot, Kmart, US Shoe, Penn Central, and Insilco Corporation. Burton will lead a team of 10, added Lambert. Overall, Lambert Edwards has a staff of 40 practitioners.
Lambert did not disclose specific IR Squared clients that would be added to Lambert Edwards' roster, but said “we tend to specialize in small, mid-cap companies, so it's an additional service now with expertise on larger accounts,” ranging from a $100 million market cap company to a Fortune 100.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
