FRAMINGHAM, MA: The TJX Companies has selected Edelman as AOR for its T.J. Maxx and Marshalls brands.
TJX began the RFP process in August when it ended its three-year relationship with former AOR Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. Ogilvy did not participate in the review.
“All of the agencies presented impressive work,” said Rebecca Leonard, associate VP of PR at TJX, in a statement. “We are excited to move forward with Edelman because of the fresh approach they will bring to our communications efforts. We believe that the combination of strategic insights, industry expertise, and creativity delivered throughout the process will help us continue to drive the business going forward.”
The company declined to comment further on hiring Edelman.
Leonard said in a statement when the review was announced in August that the company wanted a new agency “to bring fresh perspectives to our public relations program.”
Last month, Edelman was also named AOR for The International Association of Exhibitions and Events.
The agency declined to comment on the account win.
