Inspired by its first-ever “Month of Service” back in October, Text 100 kicked off its season of holiday giving with a Thanksgiving initiative to support an organization the Rochester, NY, office works with: Dimitri House, a local shelter that supports the Rochester-area's hungry and homeless. Through Dimitri House's annual holiday basket program, Text 100 adopted a local family of seven and provided them with all of the fixings to cook a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, including the turkey and roasting pan, cranberry sauce and potatoes, and tablecloth and flowers to set the holiday spirit. Through this initiative, Dimitri House provided meals for more than 80 local families.
Keeping with this momentum, all Text 100 North America offices are supporting clothing and toy drives run by local organizations through the upcoming holidays – an annual tradition for the team. This year, the 114 employees based in four Text 100 offices are working with a number of children's organizations in their local areas.
In San Francisco, the team is supporting the San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program, an organization that distributes more than 200,000 toys to more than 40,000 disadvantaged children year-round. In Rochester, the office is running a toy donation drive and fundraising to support the local chapter of the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, which distributes gifts to children in the Rochester community. Meanwhile, the New York City team is collecting new and gently used winter coats for New York Cares' 23rd Annual Coat Drive to help keep the 18.7% of poverty-stricken local men, women, and children warm this season. Additionally, the Boston office is partnering with Horizons for Homeless Children to provide toys, books, and art supplies to preschool children in Massachusetts and elsewhere.
