CHICAGO: Cision has made its media database available to mobile and tablet users whose devices use the iOS and Android operating systems.
Customers can use the mobile websites to search for media contacts, view influencer ratings, search for similar contacts, view profiles, and "reverse look-up" contacts with a phone number or email address.
The company decided to roll out the mobile enhancements after realizing that many users would want to access the database from the road to find information about journalists and set up meetings, said Brett Safron, SVP of global product management at Cision.
“Having access to that on a multitude of devices was just a common extension of where people are at now," he said. “They're not lugging around laptops. They're sitting on smart phones.”
The CisionPoint campaign-management platform is also now certified for Google Chrome, and the company has made a browser extension available that allows users to search for journalist contact information directly from the toolbar without opening a new tab.
“It's another quick and easy way to look up contacts without leaving the window you're currently in,” Safron said.
The offerings are free for Cision users, the company said.
