NEW YORK: Cohn & Wolfe has acquired Singapore-based XPR, an independent digital-focused communications agency, to expand its presence in Southeast Asia.

The deal will result in the creation of Cohn & Wolfe XPR, which will include 28 employees focusing on digital, social, and mobile media, as well as traditional communications. Managing directors Karen Ho, Gavin Foo, and Adrian Lee will lead the unit, all reporting to CEO Donna Imperato. The firm will be based in Singapore, with offices in Malaysia and Indonesia.

XPR has worked with clients such as Groupon, SingTel, BMW Asia, Salesforce.com, and Motorola Mobility. The agency's social media billings reportedly accounted for a third of group revenue this year.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Last month, Cohn & Wolfe acquired China-based firm Impactasia.
