On Ideas, an integrated marketing agency based in Jacksonville, Fl, spread some holiday cheer this year by baking more than 70 dozen cookies for US troops who are stationed locally at the Mayport Naval Station. The cookies were included as part of larger holiday baskets that the United Service Organization assembled for troops stationed on service personnel ships. On Ideas' 30 employees baked and wrapped stacks of cookies in early December and then personally delivered them to the troops at Mayport.
On Ideas is based in a large military town and has several employees whose loved ones are currently serving in the armed forces. Some are deployed for the entire holiday season and others will return just in time to celebrate, so identifying military as our holiday cause to support did not take long.
The firm also developed a holiday microsite that includes employees' favorite cookie recipes and brief stories about why they are a special part of the holiday season. The team hopes stories allow everyone to connect on a more personal level with the troops. On Ideas also filmed and produced a short video holiday card that featured the employees baking and decorating the treats at a local production studio. The troops can scan the QR code on the gift tag of the cookie bundles to view the agency's holiday website and video.
