SUMMIT, NJ: Celgene Corporation has hired New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's chief of staff Richard Bagger as SVP of corporate affairs and strategic market access. Bagger joins the company January 30. Celgene, a pharmaceutical company, said it created the position to support the company's global expansion.
Bagger will be responsible for all government relations and public affairs, strategic market access, communications and patient advocacy initiatives, reporting to chairman and CEO Robert Hugin.
A veteran of the healthcare industry, Bagger previously served as SVP of worldwide public affairs and policy for Pfizer and was an assistant general counsel to Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey.
