NEW YORK: Fleishman-Hillard has been appointed to handle the US public relations for the Egyptian Tourist Authority.
The win follows an integrated four-way $40 million marketing services group pitch, which took place in 2005. Fleishman-Hillard won the pitch, along with sister agencies DDB Advertising, DDB Tourism, and OMD media strategy & buying.
The PR will be directed globally out of Fleishman-Hillard's London office, which is rolling out an extensive and integrated public relations campaign across the UK, USA, Canada, India, Europe, China, Japan, and Middle East markets.
Nancy Seliger, general manager of Fleishman New York, said, in a statement, that the agency will aim to double the number of visitors to Egypt by 2014, by touting the country as a leading holiday destination, and tackling "perceptions and adversities that Egypt has faced in recent times."
