NEW YORK: Lime Public Relations & Promotion, a division of Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, is merging with Jericho Communications. The new group will operate under the Lime name.
Claudia Strauss will remain president of Lime, while Eric Yaverbaum, president and cofounder of Jericho, will become managing partner and client services director at Lime.
"I just had a few criteria for my organization if I was ever going to consider something like this," Yaverbaum said. "I wanted to do something that would be great for my employees. I wanted to do something that my clients would look at and say, 'Whoa, you have a whole new breadth of services,' and I wanted a place I can spend my next 20 years."
Strauss said Lime talked to "several candidates in looking for this partner," but felt Jericho was the best fit.
"From our point of view, what we're looking to learn and gain from Eric and his team, among other things, is their capabilities in corporate and crisis communications," Strauss said. Jericho has handled crisis communications for such brands as Domino's, Subway, and Fresh Samantha, a juice company that was purchased by Odwalla in 2000.
Yaverbaum said one of the first orders of business would be integrating Jericho's PR accounts - including IKEA Home Furnishings, Progressive Insurance, and TCBY - with Lime's.
Strauss said there will be several pitches Lime will work on in the next two to three months, but declined to provide details.
"We'll be working on everything right away together, in terms of sharing creative and strategic energies immediately, and then ultimately integrating the teams," Strauss said.
With 20 new employees coming over from Jericho, Lime will double in size.
