WASHINGTON, DC: Stan Collender, who headed the Washington office of Financial Dynamics, has been hired by Qorvis Communications as a managing director.
Collender has been a familiar face in the political media scene for FD, often appearing as an expert guest in print and broadcast and penning his own column, "Budget Battles," for nationaljournal.com.
The agency said in a statement that he will focus on financial communications, public affairs, and media training in his new position.
Collender has already begun work at Qorvis. It was not immediately known whether FD has named a replacement for Collender.
Previously, Collender worked as national director of public affairs and Washington director of financial communications for Fleishman-Hillard, as well as in senior positions at two major accounting firms.
Qorvis is a growing public affairs-oriented firm. Perhaps its most visible client is Saudi Arabia, which uses the agency to bolster its US reputation and government relations.
