MILWAUKEE: Miller Brewing Company has named Jonathan Stern senior director of brand public relations. Stern will head the brand PR team and be responsible for leading and directing brand communication programs.
In January, PRWeek reported that Miller was restructuring its internal PR staff and had hoped to have a new director of media relations, a director of brand PR, a manager of employee communications, and a manager of brand PR for economy brands by quarter's end.
Stern and his team of three will create strategic plans to communicate product messages, marketing objectives, programs and achievements to partners, media and customers. The brand PR team will also be responsible for creating and implementing strategic PR plans in support of Miller's full portfolio of brands.
Stern's team will also provide general communications support to the marketing division and brand teams to help create consumer awareness, relevance, social currency and purchase intent for Miller products.
Stern will report to Nehl Horton, Miller's SVP of communications and government affairs.
