NEW YORK: Business Wire has entered into a distribution agreement with CNW Group, Canada's largest news distribution service. The agreement replaces BW's relationship with CCN Matthews, which purchased Market Wire last month.

Under the terms of the deal, CNW will deliver BW press releases in Canada.

Cathy Baron Tamraz, president and CEO of BW, noted that the company saw the end of its relationship with CCN Matthews as an opportunity to upgrade its Canadian distribution options for its clients.

CNW has an exclusive deal with the Toronto Stock Exchange, which means it reaches the majority of the Canadian investment community.

Tamraz added that the company was impressed with how CNW's distribution technology mirrored that of BW.

"They've got a very fast news system, which is very similar to our NX platform," she said.

CNW is owned jointly by PR Newswire and UK-based Press Association Group. PR Newswire clients will be unaffected by CNW's partnership with BW.
