Arnold's act stops traffic in California

As Abraham Lincoln or somebody always said, politics is 10% governing and 90% empty posturing.

If you don't have the chops to pull off a meaningless public bill-signing ceremony without unintentionally ridiculing your very own bill, chances are your political future could soon be Terminated.

Yes, this was a classic gaffe by Gov. Ahnold, king of the bad movie metaphors. To celebrate the signing of anti-traffic congestion legislation, Schwarzenegger held a ceremony on a median in the middle of a highway. The ensuing rubbernecking caused a crushing traffic jam. Whoever planned this was an idiot. QED.

Ahnold, you got a Raw Deal! You're the governor, not The Running Man! Every Predator in the media will be trying to inflict Collateral Damage! You came off like a Kindergarten Cop!

Sorry for the outburst, but politicians elected with no qualifications other than their public image had better get this stuff right. Otherwise voters will recall that they elected him because they thought it was cool that he shot big, fake guns.

Keep screwing up people's commute, and it's back to Hollywood with the rest of the girlie men. The sequel to Traffic is all yours.
