NEW YORK: CA has selected Edelman as agency of record for its consumer division.
Edelman beat three other agencies in the review. The Islandia, NY-based information technology software company was looking for an agency with offices in Manhattan.
“While all of the firms were excellent, Edelman impressed us with their creativity and blogging capabilities,” Jessica Cassady, CA spokeswoman, said in a statement. “We were looking for a PR partner rather than just a PR firm, and Edelman fit the bill.”
The value of the account was undisclosed. Edelman is scheduled to be on board with CA by June 1. The first campaign and product the agency will work on has not been determined. The company’s consumer products include Internet security software such as eTrust Antivirus and eTrust PestPatrol AntiSpyware.
CA still works with Hill & Knowlton’s tech division Blanc & Otus on other segments of its business.
The company changed its name from Computer Associates to the acronym CA in November. Its clients already referred to it in the abbreviated form, so the name change was made official.
