LOS ANGELES: After almost seven years, Chandler Chicco Agency and biotechnology company Amgen have parted ways.

LOS ANGELES: After almost seven years, Chandler Chicco Agency and biotechnology company Amgen have parted ways.

Chandler Chicco "recently resigned" the Amgen account for unspecified reasons, according to Julie Adrian, leader of the firm's Los Angeles office.

One of several agencies on the biotech's PR roster, Chandler Chicco had handled "a core piece of business" for the Thousand Oaks, CA-based client; work had been split between the firm's LA branch and New York headquarters.

The account resignation would "not affect [Chandler Chicco] from a staffing standpoint," Adrian said.

Other firms currently assisting in Amgen's corporate and community outreach efforts include Los Angeles-based Lagrant Communications and San Pedro, CA-based Durazo Marketing Group. A relatively recent addition to the Amgen agency lineup is Fleishman-Hillard LA, which has represented the client on projects including the 2006 Amgen Tour of California professional bicycling race.

Amgen representatives could not immediately be reached for comment.
