US extends engraving account deadline

WASHINGTON: The US Bureau of Engraving and Printing has extended to June 16 the deadline for bids on a global information campaign tied to the introduction in early 2007 of redesigned $100 notes, as well as the possibility of redesigned $5 notes that would be introduced in 2008.

WASHINGTON: The US Bureau of Engraving and Printing has extended to June 16 the deadline for bids on a global information campaign tied to the introduction in early 2007 of redesigned $100 notes, as well as the possibility of redesigned $5 notes that would be introduced in 2008.

The award of the contract is planned for October 2006, with acceptance of the communications plan scheduled for February 2007. Unveiling of new notes, which will include new security features such as optically variable ink and "security threads," is expected in June 2007.
