Mackey joins Lazard as she, Reno depart Hill & Knowlton

NEW YORK: Hill & Knowlton has lost two of its executives this month.

NEW YORK: Hill & Knowlton has lost two of its executives this month.

Tom Reno, former EVP and general manager of H&K New York, has accepted the position at Text100 as regional director, according to Text 100. He starts his job August 2.

Judi Mackey, the head of its US corporate practice, has left the agency for financial management firm Lazard, where she is SVP and director of global communications. She will still be based in New York.

Mackey said it was a hard decision to leave Hill & Knowlton because she enjoyed her time there.

"Lazard provides the rare opportunity to work with one of the world's finest financial advisory and asset management firms, and a leadership team that has a keen understanding of the importance of communications," she said.

Though Mackey has specialized in such CEO and corporate reputation issues as leadership transitions, financial services, crisis and issues management, and positioning for companies like Cendant, Reebok, Computer Associates and UK Trade & Investment,  the position at Lazard is her first on the corporate side, she said.

She joined H&K in January 2004, after serving as the head of Burson-Marsteller's US corporate and financial practice. Before that she was a 14-year vet of Edelman, ascending to the title of EVP and global practice leader for Edelman Worldwide's reputation management practice.  She was also head of Edelman's NY international corporate affairs group.

Reno had been with the agency since March 2004, when he joined from GCI. He could not be reached for comment.
