ROCHESTER, NY: Xerox is reaching out to the US Armed Forces in the Middle East through a campaign encouraging consumers to send postcards to troops stationed abroad.

ROCHESTER, NY: Xerox is reaching out to the US Armed Forces in the Middle East through a campaign encouraging consumers to send postcards to troops stationed abroad.

The campaign, Let's Say Thanks, went international after the company experienced initial successes from two regional campaigns in Atlanta and Phoenix.

"It's a corporate social responsibility program. Xerox has always done programs that give back to the community," said Carl Langsenkamp, the manager of worldwide strategic PR for Xerox.

Xerox is promoting is iGen3 Digital Production Press by allowing people to go online to its Web site, www.letssaythanks.com, and send a postcard to troops. The postcards were designed by kids from around the nation. According to Langsenkamp, the company is hoping to garner media coverage through the local drawing contests for kids and other Xerox events where the postcards will be displayed, such as a golf outing. Since the national launch at the end of June, there have been over 550,000 people who have sent cards to soldiers.
