LOS ANGELES: Social-event planning Web site Evite has tapped CarryOn Communication to handle its PR.

LOS ANGELES: Social-event planning Web site Evite has chosen CarryOn Communication as its AOR, said the LA-based firm.

Patrick Crisp, communications VP for Evite's parent company, IAC/InterActive Corp., oversaw a competitive agency review.

It's been several years since Evite has had dedicated, full-time agency support, according to Crisp. But in an effort to "reintroduce Evite to consumers and [help] educate the media that Evite is way more than an online invitation resource," he said, "we brought CarryOn onboard to help us with our PR."

CarryOn's national campaign for Evite will focus on brand awareness and elevation and feature elements including consumer media relations, events, and viral efforts, according to J.P. Schuerman, CarryOn SVP and LA MD.

Recently, Evite has expanded its content to include "more robust offerings surrounding party planning and taste-making," he added. The site is also set to unveil new functionalities in the next year.

Schuerman said the firm has "already established an Evite news bureau" to address the client's needs "12-15 hours a day." A campaign budget was not disclosed.
