Alan Taylor Communications has expanded its relationship with office superstore chain Staples and will promote the next Invention Quest contest.

Invention Quest (IQ) is a nationwide search by Staples to discover the next great office product.  In the first two years the competition had over 22,000 entries all vying for a grand prize of $25,000, along with royalties if the invention was developed and sold by Staples.

"In the past, we have used different agency partners to contribute to the program, including [AOR] Alan Taylor," said Paul Capelli, VP of PR for Staples.  "We decided to consolidate the program with Alan Taylor, as they proposed great ideas to keep the program fresh."

It is too early for specific operational tactics for Invention Quest 3, but Capelli said that details will be shared in the fall.

"Invention Quest embodies the brand's essence of making life easy, and we're excited to use the IQ platform to extend that message to consumers in a fun and engaging way," said Erin Weinberg, managing partner at Alan Taylor.
