SAN JOSE, CA: Porter Novelli has elected to work with Freedom From Hunger (FFH) as its pro-bono campaign for the year. FFH is a nonprofit organization that provides self-help solutions to 2.2 million women with families to fight chronic hunger and poverty.

PN will raise awareness for FFH through promotion of the organization's 60th anniversary.

PN has set three goals for the campaign: providing assistance to 3 million women by 2010, doubling donations to the organization, and raising visibility of the cause. The campaign will focus on seasonal outreach, especially surrounding Mother's Day. The firm has also conducted a media-training day with the executives of FFH.

"We decided to select Freedom From Hunger because it was a global [organization] that was based here in California," explained Sandy Skees, partner in PN's Bay Area office. "The notion of trying to eradicate hunger for good really resonated with a lot of individuals."
