RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ: Samsung Electronics America has to fill two holes in its corporate communications department now that now that senior manager Tara O'Donnell has taken an account director job with Text 100 Public Relations.

The tech company had planned to expand its corporate communications department to three people from two and was searching for an assistant before O'Donnell decided to switch to agency life, according to Jose Cardona, the corporate communications manager. The third employee will fill an assistant manager role. It does not have a candidate for O'Donnell's position yet.

O'Donnell, who had been with Samsung for four years, starts at Text 100 on September 1.

"I was pretty much on the corporate side for 13 years, which is why I'm interested in moving to the agency side," O'Donnell said. "That's how you grow."

Scott Friedman, SVP and New York office lead at Text 100, said O'Donnell will work with all five Text 100 offices, and work on accounts such as Philips and Fujifilm. This is a newly created position at Text 100.

"We really hired her to help extend the digital lifestyle group," he said.

O'Donnell will report to Friedman. He has not determined how many people she will supervise, he said.
