Chicago: GreenTarget Global Group has merged with London's GJRPR, reuniting two Weber Shandwick veterans under an international umbrella.
Chicago-based GreenTarget is a two-year-old firm headed by Daniel Reid, former executive with BSMG and, later, WS. GJR is a months-old firm founded by Tim Jackaman, also a former WS executive and cofounder of the UK's Square Mile, which was absorbed into BSMG and, then, WS. GJR clients include HBOS and Royal Bank of Canada Capital markets.
Reid will remain chairman/CEO of the firm post-merger. Jackaman will head the London operation and become a member of GreenTarget's executive committee.
Reid said that he and Jackaman have remained close friends over the years, and a partnership was something they had discussed for some time. GreenTarget was already intent on expanding into London, and a merger with GJR seemed the most natural route.
Strong client demand drove the move. "We knew from day one we had to be in London," said Reid.
GreenTarget is considering further expansion into the Asian market next year, he added.
