SAN FRANCISCO: NAMM (formerly the National Association of Music Merchants) has selected Manning Selvage & Lee (MS&L) to help the trade organization promote music education.
Nonprofit NAMM represents the musical instruments and products industry, covering more than 9,000 retailers and manufacturers.
A primary focus will be building the brand with consumers and recreational musicians, as well as promoting NAMM's annual trade show, next scheduled for January 18-21, 2007 in Anaheim, CA.
"[There will be] outreach, not just to the music trades, but to consumer, family, youth and news media," said Bill Orr, managing director of MS&L's San Francisco office. "[Music] can really help to shape the mind of a young music maker, and even a senior who's trying to re-engage."
The company will also use MS&L for a Web-based and interactive direct-to-consumer appeal, but details are still being worked out.
