NEW YORK: PR Newswire has announced plans to consolidate its existing operations and customer service locations into two new centers located in Cleveland, Ohio and Albuquerque, NM.
Those centers will join the company's Washington, DC center, which was acquired in the recent deal with US Newswire.
Dave Armon, COO of PR Newswire, said the new centers involve a multimillion dollar investment.
"Over the years we've had great people…scattered all over the place with standard operating procedures not exactly the same," he said, adding that the new centers will allow for more streamlined operations.
The new centers will feature a new editorial system that Armon said would allow editors to spend more time with customers. The Cleveland facility is scheduled to be completed by December; the Albuquerque center will
be ready for occupancy in Spring 2007.
Staffing in each of the new centers will exceed 125 full-time positions. Armon said that PR Newswire employees in the existing centers will be given the option to relocate. As of yesterday's internal announcement, 10% had elected to do so.
