I went to a great event this AM, thrown by the estimable Noah Brier, called Likemind NY. After telling someone what I do for a living, a began launching into a monologue about how marketing is now a big umbrella and that we tend to cover a lot of stuff beyond just traditional PR. I then started talking about marcomms agencies and mentioned one in particular (all favorable opinion). When I finally shut up, I asked him what he did? Of course, he worked at the agency I had mentioned. So, before you get into an opine about the world, it's worthwhile to give the other person a chance to screw up.
