Merrimack, NH: Brookstone has named CKPR as its first-ever PR agency as the consumer goods and electronics retailer embarks upon a holiday-focused campaign.

Arthur Yann, SVP and director of CKPR's New York office, said the agency will launch an aggressive fourth-quarter marketing/PR campaign centered on Brookstone holiday offerings, including the new OSIM iGallop Core and Abs Exerciser and 5-Day Wireless Weather Forecaster.

"A lot of it is going to be a traditional media outreach program designed to get them included in some of the holiday gift guides," Yann said. "The iGallop Core and Abs Exerciser lends itself to a lot of fitness-type stories, so we'll be pursuing those, as well. And then with the 5-Day Wireless Weather Forecaster, we're looking to do a fun, tongue-and-cheek creative mailer aimed at newsrooms across the country."

Billings for the four-month contract are undisclosed, but Yann said Brookstone's "spending on its work with us" would reach into the six figures. Yann said the two will sit down at the end of the year and re-evaluate the agreement.
