Palo Alto, CA: Eastwick Communications alums Giovanni Rodriguez and Rebekah Mitchell are launching their own agency, Hubbub, with clients SAP, Jajah, and SocialText.
The principals at Hubbub, which models itself after social networking site Facebook, want to create a community of professionals large enough that clients can look to it to match the right business opportunity to the right person.
The agency currently has five employees, but expects to double by March.
"We believe one thing social media has done is help PR re-imagine itself," Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez, a former principal and partner at Eastwick, left the firm this summer when he found he couldn't work this business platform from within the agency. He still works closely with Eastwick and its clients.
